The AISL Harrow Scholarships Foundation Calls for Applications

A Unique Opportunity for Gifted Students Worldwide to Study A Levels at Prestigious AISL Harrow Schools. 

Dedicated to advancing education, the AISL Harrow Scholarships 2025/27 invites applications from October 11 to December 6, 2024. As it enters its fifth year, this hallmark of excellence offers exceptional students from around the globe the opportunity to pursue A Levels (pre-university education) at participating AISL Harrow Schools. 

AISL’s Commitment to Creating a Positive Impact Through Education

Established in 2021, the AISL Harrow Scholarships Foundation is a cornerstone of AISL’s broader suite of Corporate Social Responsibility strategies aimed at nurturing talented individuals who have the potential to shape a brighter future for our world. The Foundation seeks to expand and diversify the AISL Harrow community by attracting academically gifted students from around the world, who embody Harrow’s Core Values of Courage, Humility, Fellowship and Honour.

Successful applicants will receive full scholarships that cover tuition, boarding and examination fees, providing them with access to a Harrow-branded education renowned for its commitment to ‘Educational Excellence for Life and Leadership’. Since its inception in 2021, the Scholarships Programme has awarded 25 scholarships out of over 1,700 applicants, nurturing a new generation of visionaries and leaders.

Eleven graduating scholars achieved an impressive total of 40 A* and A grades in their A Level examinations, receiving offers from esteemed universities, including the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Hong Kong and more.

AISL Harrow Students Achieved Outstanding Results in the Global Chinese Debate Championship

Fostering a culture of debate and nurturing leaders with advanced critical thinking skills holds significant importance at AISL Harrow Schools. At the recent Global Chinese Debate Championship, our International Harrovians achieved commendable results.

Recognised by UNESCO as a fundamental skill, critical thinking empowers students to comprehend diverse viewpoints and cultivate a global perspective. Encouraging students to express themselves and learn in their native language, Chinese, promotes in-depth thinking. To achieve this objective, the Group integrates premier resources to deliver high-level debate training, equipping students to compete on an international platform and participate in sustained learning and communication.

The Global Chinese Debate Championship attracted teams from Oceania, the Americas, Asia, and various other regions, where students from over 500 schools participating in rigorous competition. Following the intense preliminary rounds, 110 debate teams from mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, the United States, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia etc advanced to the finals.

On the final day, strong debate teams from renowned schools convened. Three hundred students partook in a pre-match cross-campus writing competition. All participants demonstrated their skills in the subsequent debates.

The outstanding performance of AISL Harrow team members in both writing and debating was a testament to Harrow LiDe School’s high standards in bilingual education and its unwavering commitment to the preservation of Chinese culture.

As we approach the end of the 2023/2024 academic year, we are delighted to share a sincere letter from Mr Alastair Land, the Head Master of Harrow School in the UK. This letter is a special message to all international Harrovians, recognising their remarkable achievements throughout the year.

It remains an immense privilege and a point of pride to be part of the Harrow Family of Schools. Across our outstanding global community, so much is achieved. Among the many varied endeavours of our pupils, we see academic excellence fuelled by high-level thinking and self-motivation, and encouraged by impressive beaks (teachers); experience masterful artistic performances, demonstrating intelligence, skill and months of dedicated practice and teaching; and witness brilliant sports results and high levels of involvement, all born from long-term commitment and inspired coaching. 

Our diverse Harrovian life involves both collaboration and competition, fun and seriousness, failure and success. Each side of the coin has equal significance. Exceptionality is not an everyday thing. Every headline, every accolade – each is crafted from the ground up, underpinned by the Harrow Values of courage, honour, humility and fellowship.  

As we tip into the second quarter of the 21st century, the entire Harrow Family is considering carefully how to conserve such high levels of achievement while also promoting pupil wellbeing and the full participation of every child.  

At Harrow School in the UK, we are relishing the increasing opportunities to collaborate ever more meaningfully with the wider Harrow Family – through, for example, support for the recruitment, induction and development of staff, as well as pan-Family pupil projects and other engagements. There are huge educational and professional benefits for all involved.

This special occasion marked the triumphant conclusion of another academic year and served as a heartfelt tribute to the remarkable achievements of our students and educators.

At AISL Harrow Schools, we proudly uphold the cherished traditions of Harrow. One such tradition is capping, where students touch the brim of their hats and greet their School Heads with respect.  

The 2024 Speech Day showcased the diverse talents of our students, who took to the stage with confidence and grace. Harrow Hong Kong Children School Recognised for Innovation and Technology Achievements at I&T Awards 2024

Harrow Hong Kong Children School Shenzhen Qianhai was honoured to participate in the prestigious Reception for I&T Awards 2024, organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission of HKSAR on 15 July, 2024. This recognition stemmed from the school’s outstanding achievements at the 49th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions earlier this year.

The Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, known as the ‘Olympics of Innovation,’ showcased 1,035 inventions from 38 countries and territories this year. Led by the Head Master Dr John Tan and instructor Antony, Harrow Hong Kong Children School’s team was the youngest gold medal recipient, representing the only primary and secondary school from the Chinese mainland.

Since its establishment in September 2023, Harrow Hong Kong Children School Shenzhen Qianhai has excelled in STEAM education. Their participation in the Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition and Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions resulted in two gold medals and valuable connections with top talents from around the world within just a few months since the school was opened.

The school’s participation in this prestigious event represents a milestone of its achievements. Two AISL Harrow Schools Ranked as the Top 30 International Kindergartens in China by KingLead 2024

We are thrilled to announce that the kindergarten sections of Harrow International School Shanghai and Harrow International School Shenzhen Qianhai have been honoured as the “Top 30 Kindergartens in China” by KingLead. This recognition not only acknowledges our accomplishments in the field of early childhood education, but also highlights our unwavering commitment to excellence.  

KingLead is a high-end international education resource and service platform in China. The KingLead China International Kindergarten Ranking 2024 is a comprehensive assessment of international kindergartens based on five key indicators: Infrastructure, Faculty, Curriculum Contents, Sustainability, and Social Evaluation through field research.  

Harrow International School Shanghai was one of the eight schools shortlisted in Shanghai, while Harrow International School Shenzhen Qianhai was the only kindergarten to make it onto the list in Shenzhen.

Orientation Programme for New Teachers at Harrow School in the UK

The Harrow family of schools is renowned for its high-quality education and outstanding academic excellence, upheld through the recruitment of top-tier teachers and school management teams.   

In June, 53 new teachers from 9 AISL Harrow Schools participated in the orientation programme at Harrow School in the UK. Mr Alastair Land, Head Master of Harrow School, Mr Mel Mrowiec, Chairman of Harrow International Schools Ltd., and Ms Debra Price, Chief Education Officer (designate) of Harrow International Schools Ltd., welcomed and introduced them to the 450-year heritage and educational ethos of Harrow, together with senior leaders of other AISL Harrow Schools. This was a great opportunity for our teachers to witness the genuine and purposeful partnership. They will embark on their new adventures with AISL Harrow Schools in Asia starting this September.

The Inaugural AISL Harrow Games: A Triumphant Celebration of Sporting Excellence

The highly anticipated inaugural AISL Harrow interschool sports event – AISL Harrow Games – was held with resounding success at Harrow International School Bangkok from 6-9 June 2024. This signature event brought together over 300 young athletes from seven AISL Harrow Schools- Bangkok, Beijing, Haikou, Hong Kong, Nanning, Shanghai and Shenzhen Qianhai. 

The three-day competition featured individual and team events, including athletics, football and shopping cartball. It provided our students with the perfect platform to showcase their sporting skills, unwavering team spirit, and exemplary sportsmanship.  

Sports are integral to the holistic education offered at the AISL Harrow Schools. It empowers our students physically, mentally and intellectually, developing healthy minds and bodies. By holding such an event, we aim to provide a global platform for International Harrovians to exploit their sporting talents and exemplify the core Harrow Values of Courage, Fellowship, Honour and Humility. From every bead of sweat to the cheers of the crowd, these cherished moments were brought to life, forging invaluable connections and a powerful unity that permeated the AISL Harrow community.
