As much as its full dedication to the pursuit of educational excellence, being a socially responsible educational institution holds equal prominence in AISL’s commitments. The Group has been investing in formulating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies and policies to develop a sense of empathy and respect in its students and staff, towards others and the environment we all live in.
Most recently, in a progressive move to contribute to biodiversity protection, AISL Harrow Schools National Giant Panda Park Experimental Base has been established in the Yingjing section of the Giant Panda National Park in Chengdu, China. The 800sqm habitat enables our students to gain firsthand experience in understanding giant pandas and their conservation, whilst developing an awareness of environmental protection and sustainable development.
Students from AISL Harrow Nanning had the opportunity to be the first to visit the experimental base on a two-day trip in December 2023. During the trip, students were guided by researchers of the National Giant Panda Park to gain comprehensive knowledge about this vulnerable species, from its evolutionary history and restoration of its natural habitat to breeding and conservation of its wild population. A dedicated tour is scheduled for Upper School students in the coming February to learn alongside researchers from the Giant Panda National Park on scientific research methods in biological conservation. Other AISL Harrow Schools will also participate in these meaningful projects.
AISL believes that the delivery of a truly holistic education is beyond simply academic results and league tables. Through offering diverse experiential learning opportunities for students, we aim to establish lifelong learning interests and a sense of responsibility as global citizens, for them to serve the wider community and lead wherever they are.
