Fostering a culture of debate and nurturing leaders with advanced critical thinking skills holds significant importance at AISL Harrow Schools. At the recent Global Chinese Debate Championship, our International Harrovians achieved commendable results.
Recognised by UNESCO as a fundamental skill, critical thinking empowers students to comprehend diverse viewpoints and cultivate a global perspective. Encouraging students to express themselves and learn in their native language, Chinese, promotes in-depth thinking. To achieve this objective, the Group integrates premier resources to deliver high-level debate training, equipping students to compete on an international platform and participate in sustained learning and communication.
The Global Chinese Debate Championship attracted teams from Oceania, the Americas, Asia, and various other regions, where students from over 500 schools participating in rigorous competition. Following the intense preliminary rounds, 110 debate teams from mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, the United States, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia etc advanced to the finals.
On the final day, strong debate teams from renowned schools convened. Three hundred students partook in a pre-match cross-campus writing competition. All participants demonstrated their skills in the subsequent debates.
The outstanding performance of AISL Harrow team members in both writing and debating was a testament to Harrow LiDe School’s high standards in bilingual education and its unwavering commitment to the preservation of Chinese culture.
